introduction to ludorites:
- ludorites, or spell-games, are little games, mental exercises, or spells, as you like, designed to be fun ways to learn about yourself and the world around you.
- when you play one, imagine you have two sliders, one for how much of a game it is, and another for how much of a spell it is.
- set those wherever feels most comfortable: I like to max out both sliders, but I know that's not for everyone; as long as at least one slider is above zero, you can still earn achievements.
- these games will often instruct you to do strange things, and you may not be capable of all of them; that's okat.
- if you aren't, imagine you are, and do what you can to do what that version of you would do; if you can't do it at all, imagine doing what they would do.
- I promise that's good enough; it is a game. if you're still having difficulty, try lowering the spell slider a bit or raising the game slider a bit.
- these spells aren't for nefarious purposes.
- except, conceivably, one: these games, especially the games of opening, could be considered initiatory practices; suffice it to say that they can only bring you where they lead should you desire to go——they are voluntary games——and where they bring you is beyond my knowledge.
- that said, it seems like a pretty nice place so far!
- they're exercises in self-contemplation, transformation, and healing.
- if you haven't cast a spell before, don't worry, I promise you know how.
- if you play some of these games and find yourself wanting more, there are plenty of spells out there, for almost any conceivable purpose; it's more fun to write your own, though.
- if you write any new games for these sets (door, flame, toad, etc), or new sets of your own, I would love to see them! please feel free to contact me on twitter @transsorcerous.
